Description of Business

Plastics Capital is a plastics products manufacturers focused on proprietary products for niche markets. The Group has six factories in the UK, one in Thailand, two in China and sales offices in the USA, Japan, China and India.

Approximately 40 per cent of sales are exported to over 80 countries worldwide and production is concentrated in the UK where significant engineering know-how and automation underpins the Group's competitiveness.  The Group has approximately 500 employees.

The Group’s corporate strategy is twofold: first, to grow its businesses organically and, second, to make value enhancing acquisitions of related businesses.

Directors’ Responsibilities

The Board meets six times a year and is responsible for formulating, reviewing and approving strategy, budgets, acquisitions, capital expenditure and senior personnel appointments. The executive directors and senior management meet regularly to review and consider operational matters. The Board comprises of an Executive Chairman, one Executive Director and three Non-Executive Directors. Two of the Non-Executive Directors are independent of the executive management.

Board Committees

Following admission to AIM, the Directors established an audit committee and a nomination committee with formally delegated rules and responsibilities. A remuneration committee has been in place since November 2004. The audit, remuneration and nomination committee meets at least once a year.

Plastics Capital consists of six key operating subsidiaries: BNL in Knaresborough (North Yorkshire), C&T Matrix in Wellingborough (Northamptonshire), Palagan in Dunstable (Bedfordshire), Flexipol in Haslingden (Lancashire), Bell Plastics in Poole (Dorset) and Synpac in Hessle (Yorkshire). The group also has sales offices in the USA (Boston), in Japan (Tokyo), in India (Mumbai) and in China (Shanghai) and a manufacturing and assembly operations in Thailand and two manufacturing facilities in China.
